“I love expressing thoughts, aesthetics, colour and form through glass. For me, glass is a magical material that is constantly alive together with light. That heightens my interest in glass even more.”
Rasit Rejwan Toplu, who comes from Turkey, completed training in the field of fine arts at an art academy and then studied glass design at Anadolu University in 2008. During his studies, he learned all the techniques and knowledge related to glass. As part of the Erasmus exchange programme, he came to Germany during his studies and attended free glass art courses for one semester at the IKKG (Institute for Artistic Ceramics and Glass).
He then completed an internship at Glashütte Gernheim in 2012.
After completing his studies, he worked in various workshops in the field of artistic crafts. During his studies, he took part in glass workshops and courses both at the university and at other institutions.
Since 2016, he has been living in Germany and working as a practical glass designer at LWL Glashütte Gernheim.
