Carolin Zibulka

I live in Kleve and work with my Lavacoating technique, which I developed myself, building on an early method used by my father. Layer by layer, works are created on the reverse side of glass, revealing their finished image only when turned over.

My aim is to make the effect of depth, structure and colour in glass newly tangible. Each work is created without a fixed template—the process is an interplay of craftsmanship, experience and intuition. This results in works that leave room for personal perception and interpretation.
